Meet Resident Artist - Arthur Pierce
If you have been to The Ledberry (or if you are yet to come!), you will see featured on the large walls in our main studio room, stunning artwork by Arthur Pierce which is available for sale.
Arthur was encouraged to paint by his father, a gifted amateur. The family were from the small town of Menai Bridge, Anglesey - the painting of coastal scenes and seascapes were often featured in his early work.
After retiring as an antique restorer, he spent winters in his home in the hills of Andalucia. The constant change of the big skies there, during all weathers, were an inspiration to transfer them to canvas.
He works in oil on canvas and the light reflecting and atmospheric qualities of clouds feature in his work.
He now spends much of his time painting in his studio in Herefordshire!
